Care Guide
Leather
Leather, being a natural material, matures gracefully with proper upkeep. Each type of leather possesses inherent natural traits. Variations may manifest in the natural grain, differing between hides or within the same hide. The leathers employed in our upholstery undergo treatment and sealing to endure daily use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To maintain our leather upholstery effectively, regular and gentle wiping with a soft dry cloth is recommended. If the leather surface appears dry, utilising natural and colour-neutral leather cream applied with a dry cloth is advisable. Spot cleaning isn’t advised for leather as it may result in unnatural discolouration, contingent upon the leather type and colour.
Warning
It’s advisable to steer clear of harsh brushes, cleaning agents, vacuum cleaners, and sharp objects, as they could potentially harm the leather surface. Keep in mind that pets may scratch and inflict damage on all types of leather, while non-colourfast clothing can induce permanent discolouration. Avoid prolonged exposure of leather furniture to direct sunlight and proximity to warm radiators or fireplaces, as excessive heat can lead to drying and cracking of the leather. Kindly note that our warranty does not cover damages caused by pets, harsh cleaning products, or sharp objects. Additionally, given the inherently different characteristics of each hide, we cannot assume responsibility for the quality and suitability of leather material not selected or specified by our team.

Mild Steel
Some of our products and components are crafted using mild steel. Due to the handmade fabrication and finishing process, variations in patina or colour are inherent and contribute to the unique character of each piece. Tooling marks and surface scratches are intentional aspects of the finished items. Our blackened steel products are coated with wax for protection, although over time, this wax may gradually diminish in moisture resistance. Our production techniques and finishes are designed to allow the metals to naturally age and develop their distinct character and patina with use.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Occasional maintenance of blackened steel items may be necessary. For light cleaning, the steel can be gently wiped with a slightly damp cloth and promptly buffed with a dry cloth. A very mild solution, such as diluted dishwashing liquid, is suitable for cleaning. To preserve the original appearance, the wax finish can be rejuvenated with a light application of wax. It’s recommended to perform maintenance every six months or as needed based on usage and environment. For addressing minor corrosion or surface rust, lightly rub the affected area with a very fine abrasive cloth and then reseal with a gently buffed layer of wax.
Warning
Caution should be exercised with abrasive cleaning, as they may scratch or remove some blackened patina beneath the wax. Avoid using bleach, ammonia, or other harsh household cleaners. Please be aware that condensation from hot or cold beverages can leave rings on the blackened steel surface. Using coasters or placemats can help protect the finish. Additionally, steel hardware should not be mixed with dissimilar metals to prevent galvanic corrosion and premature deterioration of the steel. Please note that our warranty does not cover damages resulting from the use of strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or improper repairs.

Powder-Coated Steel
We utilise powder-coated metals in crafting our shelving systems, bed frames, aluminium chairs, and dining tables. Our selection of finishes results in a lightly textured, matte surface that is easy to clean and maintain.
Maintenance and Cleaning
For routine cleaning, simply wipe the surfaces with a dry cloth. Should minor stains occur on painted or powder-coated metals, they can be gently removed with a clean cloth and minimal water. Whenever possible, ensure that the part being cleaned is removed, and afterwards, dry the painted or powder-coated surface thoroughly after any moisture application. In the case of the MŪ16181 shelving, for a more thorough clean, begin by wiping the surface to remove dust, then wash the shelves using a cloth dampened with a mild solution of detergent and water. Again, always ensure the surface is thoroughly dried after any moisture application.
Warning
It’s imperative to refrain from using abrasives like steel wool when cleaning painted or powder-coated metals. Avoid cleaning these surfaces with bleach, and refrain from spraying or pouring chemicals directly onto them. Please be aware that our warranty does not extend to damages resulting from the use of strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or improper repairs.

Timber
We utilise solid timber, specifically White American Oak and Walnut, in crafting our lounge chairs, dining chairs, daybeds, and bed frames. These pieces are finished with a single coat of colourless or pigmented oil. Our timber selection adheres to the highest sorting class standards, ensuring it is free from defects such as cracks, unsound dead knots, or sapwood. Solid timber is exceptionally durable, and with proper maintenance, it will preserve its naturally smooth, warm texture over time.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To upkeep timber furniture, regularly wipe the surface with a dry cloth. For cleaning stains, gently rub the affected area with a soft cleaning cloth dampened with a mild solution of water and dishwashing liquid. When dealing with candle wax residue, allow it to solidify before carefully removing as much as possible with a blunt object, taking care not to scratch the surface. After stain removal, gently wipe the surface dry with a clean cloth or paper towel.
Minor scratches and dents can often be repaired if the wood fibres remain intact. We advise reaching out to us to discuss the most effective method for restoring your item.
Warning
Avoid pouring cleaning products directly onto the furniture and refrain from using steel wool, abrasive brushes or cloths, and harsh chemicals. Keep timber furniture away from direct sunlight exposure and utilise coasters or placemats to prevent stubborn stains. Please be aware that our warranty does not cover damages resulting from the use of strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or improper repairs.

Stainless Steel
We utilise stainless steel of various grades, a non-plated metal renowned for its robust corrosion and scratch resistance, in manufacturing our trays, the glides for our shelving systems, beds, and daybeds, as well as the structural elements of our dining and coffee tables.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To preserve the condition of these components and surfaces, it’s recommended to regularly wipe them with a microfiber cloth to eliminate dust. For removing stains from stainless steel, warm, soapy water or a specialised cleaning product formulated for stainless steel cleaning and buffing can be used.
Warning
It’s important to avoid chlorine- and acid-based cleaning products, as they can induce rusting in steel. Additionally, abrasive materials such as steel wool or steel brushes should not be used, as they can cause surface damage and corrosion. Please be advised that our warranty does not cover damages resulting from the use of strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or improper repairs.

Stone
In our collection, we incorporate Naboomspruit White Sandstone, Verde Antique, as well as Kalahari Springs Granite.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Given sandstone’s porous nature, all our sandstone pieces undergo treatment with a sealant, safeguarding against liquid absorption and stains. Depending on usage and placement, periodic resealing of your sandstone furniture may be necessary. Routine maintenance involves gently wiping the surfaces with a soft cloth. For stain removal, a cloth dampened with a mild detergent and water solution is recommended.
In contrast, Verde Antique and Kalahari Springs Granite are less porous and receive a more polished finish along with stone sealant application. Cleaning these stones is best achieved with a soft cleaning cloth dampened with a mild detergent and water solution.
Warning
When tending to any stone, it’s essential to steer clear of abrasives like steel wool. It’s worth noting that the application of most natural stone sealants is typically handled by trained professionals. Therefore, we advise reaching out to us before resealing your stone furniture. Given sandstone’s relatively softer composition, it may be susceptible to chipping or deformation upon sudden impact from sharp or heavy objects. Please bear in mind that our warranty does not extend to damages resulting from the use of strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or improper treatment.

Textiles
The textiles we select for upholstery are carefully chosen to meet the demands of both domestic and commercial use, prioritising functionality and longevity.
Maintenance and Cleaning
To maintain our textile upholstery, regular lint brushing or gentle vacuuming with a soft brush specifically designed for upholstery cleaning is recommended. For wet stains, gently dab with a damp lint-free cloth or sponge. For stubborn stains, a solution of mild detergent and lukewarm water can be used.
Warning
It’s important to avoid sharp objects that may scratch or damage the textiles, and exposure to non-colourfast clothing can result in discolouration. When cleaning or treating stains, refrain from vigorous rubbing to prevent potential damage or colour fading. Please be aware that our warranty does not cover damages caused by strong abrasives, harsh cleaning products, or any stain removers. Additionally, we cannot assume responsibility for the quality of textiles not specified or recommended by our team.
